Classroom Time

It is very important that you understand the basics of scuba diving before you ever get into the water with scuba gear. During your class period you will learn all the basics that you need to excel when you hit the water. You will learn specifics about each individual piece of equipment that you will use. This is a very important part of your training. It is a very good idea to take notes and review those notes often. Knowledge is power and in many cases knowledge in the water may just save your life. Depending on which program you go through, the classroom portion of your training can take days to weeks.

Field Test

The instructor is going to focus on helping you become confident and relaxed in the water. When you get into the water you will have the opportunity to put into action everything that you learned in the classroom. This is where you will go down with your instructor to differing depths and learn how to have your body adjust to the depths. Usually the field test is very relaxed, and is just to give you experience.
